Stepping Into Authenticity, Faith, and Inner Alignment

Welcome back, friends — it’s Angelica and Nicole here, and we’re honored that you’ve chosen to return for Episode 2 of Faith in the Wild. Today’s conversation is one that unfolded with incredible vulnerability and honesty. This episode, “Embodying Truth: A Journey to the True Self,” was sparked by our shared desire to step out of the roles and identities we’ve long performed and instead step into who we truly are — without filters, without masks, without fear.

Over the years, we’ve both wrestled with the pressure to fit into versions of ourselves shaped by expectations—family, culture, community, motherhood, career titles, even our own internal narratives. We’ve both felt the dissonance between who we appear to be and who our souls are becoming. And as we sat together in this conversation, it became clear: truth isn’t a destination — it’s a practice.

We know we’re not alone in this. So many of us are longing to breathe again. To live in alignment. To feel whole. To shed the layers that no longer match the person we are becoming.

This episode is an invitation to reconnect with the truth God is writing into our hearts — even when it disrupts what we thought we knew about ourselves.

Key Themes We Explore

Truth in Self-Reflection

Truth begins with honesty — not with others, but with ourselves. We talk about what it means to pause long enough to ask the harder questions: Am I living authentically? Am I performing or embodying? Am I building a life aligned with my spirit or one shaped by external approval? Self-reflection becomes a sacred act, and honesty becomes spiritual awakening.

Trust as the Foundation of Truth

We cannot embody truth without trust — trust in our inner knowing, trust in God’s voice, trust that stepping into authenticity won’t break us, but free us. Truth is anchored by faith, and trusting the process is essential when shedding old identities brings discomfort and fear.

The Role of Faith in Becoming

Faith becomes our compass as we navigate identity, purpose, and calling. We explore how God gently guides us into deeper alignment, and how truth reveals itself more clearly when we stop striving and start listening. Embodying truth means believing that who we already are is already enough.

Pull-Quote From the Episode

“I am a good person. I don’t have to be it. I am — innately.” — Angelica

Personal Reflections

Nicole: This conversation brought me face-to-face with the places where I’ve hidden behind expectation rather than truth. I realized how often I have searched for identity outside of myself — through productivity, roles, or performance. I learned that truth isn’t something to prove; it’s something to remember. Resting in who I am — without defending it — has been one of the most freeing experiences of my life. Silence, rest, and listening have become my teachers.

Angelica: For so long, I believed growth required striving — pushing harder, doing more, trying to earn worthiness. Stepping into truth has meant unlearning performance and embracing presence. I’ve realized that every past version of myself wasn’t wrong — she was necessary. Each season was scaffolding for the soul I’m stepping into now. Embodying truth has helped me feel grounded, peaceful, and aligned, even in uncertainty.

Why This Conversation Matters

Because authenticity is courage. Because embodiment is healing. Because living honestly changes everything.

When we step into our truth:

  • We stop abandoning ourselves

  • We stop performing for acceptance

  • We strengthen our spiritual identity

  • We attract people and opportunities aligned with our purpose

  • We deepen our relationship with God

Truth frees us. Truth strengthens us. Truth is a spiritual act.

This conversation matters because so many people feel torn between who they are and who they think they have to be. We hope this episode gives you permission to choose authenticity over expectation and alignment over appearance.

Call to Reflection

Create a quiet space for these questions — journal, voice memo, or walk with them:

  • What does “truth” mean to you right now, in this season?

  • Where are you living in performance rather than authenticity?

  • How is God inviting you to align your identity with who you were created to be?
