The Path Untraveled — Discovering Growth in the Wilderness of Life
Welcome, friends — we’re Angelica McCarthy and Nicole Moran, and we’re so grateful that you’re here. Today we’re sharing something deeply personal, something born from our real-life challenges, spiritual questions, and the courageous act of trusting God in the unknown.
This is Faith in the Wild — a podcast and community created to explore what it really means to live with faith when life feels unpredictable, unsteady, and beautifully wild.
The idea for this podcast began on one of our long coffee-and-conversation mornings, the kind where time disappears. We found ourselves talking honestly about the transitions we were in — motherhood, creative reinvention, identity shifts, personal growth, and this constant, overwhelming sense that God was calling us somewhere new… without giving us the details. We laughed, we cried, and then we recognized something important: What we were experiencing wasn’t unique — it was universal. Everyone, at some point, is navigating a wilderness season.
So we asked ourselves: What if we created a space where we could come together, share honestly, find courage in vulnerability, and learn to trust God in the unknown in community? And just like that — the spark created Faith in the Wild podcast.
This podcast is our offering. Our heart. Our yes to the journey.
If you’ve ever felt stretched, uncertain, hopeful, exhausted, or called into something bigger than yourself — this space is for you.
Key Themes We Explore
Trusting the Unknown
Growth rarely happens in comfortable spaces. We talk about stepping off the marked trail and onto the path God is shaping in real time. Trust is not a concept — it’s a daily practice, a muscle, and a journey.
Growing Through Discomfort
Nothing transforms us quite like being uncomfortable. We explore how discomfort and change can become holy ground — the place where God strengthens us, corrects us, and prepares us.
Finding Divine Presence in Unexpected Places
From kitchen floors to car-ride prayers to long walks at a toddler’s pace — we examine how God meets us in the ordinary and the messy, not only in churches or quiet mountaintops.
“Sometimes the most powerful truths are found when we step off the marked path and into the wild.”
Personal Reflections
Angelica: For a long time, I felt like I needed a perfect plan before stepping forward. But the journey has taught me that faith rarely gives us a blueprint — it gives us breadcrumbs. Every time I chose trust over certainty, doors opened that I never expected. This podcast is one of those doors. It’s blessing me already, and we haven’t even begun.
Nicole: Motherhood changed me deeply. I realized I had been trying to hold everything together perfectly on my own. I felt stretched thin, and faith became my oxygen. It reminded me that I don’t have to do everything or be everything. I just need to show up with open hands and an open heart. That surrender — that willingness to be guided — brought me here. Sharing this space with Angelica and with you is an honor.
Why This Conversation Matters
This isn’t just another podcast. It’s a place to breathe. To feel seen.To reconnect with purpose. To remember that vulnerability is strength and that the wilderness is not punishment — it’s preparation.
If we can learn to hear God’s voice in the chaos, the pain, the waiting, and the uncertainty, we become unshakeable. Our faith becomes lived, not spoken.
We want this space to transform how the community can experience spirituality: Not as pressure, not as perfection, but as a living, breathing relationship.
Call to Reflection
Take a moment to journal or sit with these questions:
Where in your life are you being invited to trust without knowing the outcome?
What discomfort might actually be preparing you for growth?
How can you make space to feel God in ordinary, everyday moments?
